We are a recreational community theatre, offering performing arts opportunities to youth in the Southern Johnson County / Northern Miami County area. We are committed to improving the quality of life for our community through the participation in and promotion of the arts.
Spring Hill Daffodil Days Performance
MAPA will be performing at Spring Hill Daffodil Days on Saturday, April 25th a little after 12:00 pm on the stage at the Spring Hill Civic Center.
- All current and previous MAPA participants are invited to join us for this performance.
- There will be ONE rehearsal on Sunday, April 19th, from 3:00 - 4:30 pm at the civic center.
- Those who are performing are asked to meet by the stage in the civic center at 11:45 am on April 25th for our short performance.

We are pleased to announce our 2015 summer activities*:
Shakespeare Unleashed: June 2-5, 9-12 (Ages 14+, with parental approval) - $70/participant Directed by: Alex Goering
This will be a high intensity class, focused on learning, understanding, and appreciating Shakespeare's texts.
The class will meet Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to noon for two weeks. Each student will choose and develop at least 2 monologues. Students will learn to identify the features of iambic pentameter, the differences between verse and prose, and will also learn the techniques of performing "in the round."
Exploring the Literary World through Drama: June 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26 (Ages 7-11) - $50/participant Directed by: Lauren Baxter & Tina Allen
Location: Spring Hill Civic Center
This class will meet MWF from 6:00 - 8:00 pm for two weeks. The final class on Friday, June 26th will be a showcase for parents and friends. Students will play different theatre games, participate in fun movement activities, and engage their imagination while diving deep into their favorite literary pieces. Such literary pieces may include works by Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss, and Louisa May Alcott (Little Women.)
First Annual MAPApalooza: Showcase of Talent Scholarship Benefit
Saturday, July 25th at 6:30 pm.
All school age children/teens welcome to participate and share their talent in song, dance, instrumental music, or acting, solo or part of a duo/ensemble. There will be a $25 entry fee per participant. We plan to award a number of scholarships to 2015 graduating MAPA members and alumni as a part of this event. If you would like to join the committee to organize and plan this event please contact Jennifer Kuhn (firstname.lastname@example.org). Adults and teens are welcome on the committee.
